तेषामाज्ञाय वचनं रामो वचनमब्रवीत्।
एवं निबोध वचनं सुहृदां धर्मचक्षुषाम्॥
teṣām ājñāya vacanaṁ rāmo vacanam abravīt
evaṁ nibodha vacanaṁ suhṛdāṁ dharma-cakṣuṣām
teṣām = their; ājñāya = understanding; vacanam = words; rāmaḥ = Rāma; vacanam = the words; abravīt = spoke; evam = following; nibodha = listen; vacanam = to the words; suhṛdām = of Our well-wishers; dharma-cakṣuṣām = who see through the eyes of Vedic dharma.
Understanding their words, Rāma spoke the following words, “Listen to the words of Our well-wishers who see through the eyes of Vedic dharma.
etac caivobhayaṁ śrutvā samyak sampaśya rāghava
uttiṣṭha tvaṁ mahā-bāho māṁ ca spṛśa tathodakam
etat ca eva ubhayam = both [Me and the people here]; śrutvā = having heard; samyak = carefully; sampaśya = think over what to do; rāghava = O descendant of Raghu; uttiṣṭha tvam = get up; mahā-bāho = O mighty-armed; mām ca = then touch Me; spṛśa = touch; tathā = and; udakam = water.
एतच्चैवोभयं श्रुत्वा सम्यक्संपश्य राघव।
उत्तिष्ठ त्वं महाबाहो मां च स्पृश तथोदकम्॥
