Chapter 117: Anasūyā Instructs Sītā About Strī-dharma
Text 2.117.22
नगरस्थो वनस्थो वा शुभो वा यदि वाशुभः।
यासां स्त्रीणां प्रियो भर्ता तासां लोका महोदयाः॥
nagarastho vanastho vā śubho vā yadi vāśubhaḥ
yāsāṁ strīṇāṁ priyo bhartā tāsāṁ lokā mahodayāḥ
nagarasthaḥ = irrespective of whether he is in a city; vanasthaḥ = a forest; vā = or; śubhaḥ vā = whether he is favorable; yadi vā aśubhaḥ = or unfavorable to her; yāsām strīṇām = for women; priyaḥ bhartā = who are devoted to their husband; tāsām lokāḥ = worlds are destined; mahā-udayāḥ = the most prosperous.
“The most prosperous worlds are destined for women who are devoted to their husband irrespective of whether he is in a city or a forest, whether he is favorable or unfavorable to her.
