Chapter 117: Anasūyā Instructs Sītā About Strī-dharma
Text 2.117.27
त्वद्विधास्तु गुणैर्युक्ता दृष्टलोकपरावराः।
स्त्रियः स्वर्गे चरिष्यन्ति यथा धर्मकृतस्तथा॥
tvad-vidhās tu guṇair yuktā dṛṣṭa-loka-parāvarāḥ
striyaḥ svarge cariṣyanti yathā dharma-kṛtas tathā
tvat-vidhāḥ = like you; tu = however; guṇaiḥ = with auspicious qualities; yuktāḥ = who are endowed; dṛṣṭa-loka-para-avarāḥ = and who are aware of superior and inferior persons; striyaḥ = women; svarge = in the heavens; cariṣyanti = wander; yathā = like; dharma-kṛtaḥ tathā = men who engage in pious rituals.
“However, women like you who are endowed with auspicious qualities and who are aware of superior and inferior persons wander in the heavens like men who engage in pious rituals.
