Chapter 118: Conversation Between Sītā and Anasūyā
Text 2.118.24
स्वयंवरे किल प्राप्ता त्वमनेन यशस्विना।
राघवेणेति मे सीते कथा श्रुतिमुपागता॥
svayaṁvare kila prāptā tvam anena yaśasvinā
rāghaveṇeti me sīte kathā śrutim upāgatā
svayaṁvare kila = in a svayaṁvara; prāptā = were obtained; tvam = you; anena yaśasvinā = by the illustrious; rāghaveṇa = Rāghava; iti = that; me = I; sīte = Sītā; kathā śrutim upāgatā = have heard.
Sītā, I have heard that you were obtained in a svayaṁvara by the illustrious Rāghava.1
1 Literally, this verse means, “Sītā, the story that you were obtained in a svayaṁvara by this illustrious Rāghava has reached my ears.”
