Chapter 5: Rāma Meets Sage Śarabhaṅga
Text 3.5.17
एतद्धि किल देवानां वयो भवति नित्यदा।
यथेमे पुरुषव्याघ्रा दृश्यन्ते प्रियदर्शनाः॥
etad dhi kila devānāṁ vayo bhavati nityadā
yatheme puruṣa-vyāghrā dṛśyante priya-darśanāḥ
etat = this; hi = indeed; kila = it is well known that; devānām = of the devas; vayaḥ = age; bhavati = is; nityadā = the constant; yathā = the devas are just like; ime = here; puruṣa-vyāghrāḥ = the tigerlike celestial men; dṛśyante = seen; priya-darśanāḥ = [so] pleasing in appearance.
Indeed, it is well known that this is the constant age of the devas, who resemble the tigerlike celestial men seen here, [so] pleasing in appearance.
