ime ca puruṣa-vyāghrā ye tiṣṭhanty abhito ratham
śataṁ śataṁ kuṇḍalino yuvānaḥ khaḍga-pāṇayaḥ

uro-deśeṣu sarveṣāṁ hārā jvalana-sannibhāḥ

ime ca = here are; puruṣa-vyāghrāḥ = tigerlike celestial men; ye tiṣṭhanti = standing; abhitaḥ = around; ratham = the chariot; śatam śatam = by the hundreds; kuṇḍalinaḥ = they wear earrings; yuvānaḥ = they are youthful; khaḍga-pāṇayaḥ = with swords in their hands; vistīrṇa-vipula-uraskāḥ = their chests are broad; parigha-āyata-bāhavaḥ = their arms are long like iron rods; śoṇa-aṁśu-vasanāḥ = [and] their garments are reddish in color; sarve = all [of them]; vyāghrāḥ = tigers; iva = like; durāsadāḥ = are insurmountable; uraḥ-deśeṣu sarveṣām = on their chests; hārāḥ = the necklaces; jvalana-sannibhāḥ = are splendorous like fire; rūpam  bibhrati = their bodies appear to be; saumitre = Saumitri; pañca-viṁśati-vārṣikam = twenty-five years [in age].

Here are tigerlike celestial men standing around the chariot by the hundreds. They wear earrings. They are youthful, with swords in their hands. Their chests are broad, their arms are long like iron rods, [and] their garments are reddish in color. All [of them] are insurmountable like tigers. The necklaces on their chests are splendorous like fire. Saumitri, their bodies appear to be twenty-five years [in age].

There were hundreds of celestial men [surrounding Indra] in every direction. Their bodies appeared to be twenty-five years in age. This is the state of youth because it is stated:

kaumāraṁ syāt pañca-daśād yauvanaṁ tu tataḥ param

“Boyhood is till [the age of] fifteen. Youth is after that.”
