Chapter 5: Rāma Meets Sage Śarabhaṅga
Text 3.5.24
इति वज्री तमामन्त्र्य मानयित्वा च तापसम्।
रथेन हरियुक्तेन ययौ दिवमरिन्दमः॥
iti vajrī tam āmantrya mānayitvā ca tāpasam
rathena hari-yuktena yayau divam arindamaḥ
iti = thus; vajrī = Indra who wields the thunderbolt; tam = the; āmantrya = took permission; mānayitvā = honored; ca = and; tāpasam = ascetic Śarabhaṅga; rathena = on his chariot; hari-yuktena = yoked to horses; yayau = and went; divam = to the heavens; arindamaḥ = and destroys his enemies.
Thus Indra, who wields the thunderbolt and destroys his enemies, took permission, honored the ascetic Śarabhaṅga, and went to the heavens on his chariot yoked to horses.
