abhigamya = approached Him; ca = and; dharmajñāḥ = who knew dharma; rāmam = Śrī Rāma; dharmabhṛtām = of those who followed dharma; varam = [and hence] was the best; ūcuḥ = spoke [as follows]; parama-dharmajñam = knew the highest dharma; ṛṣi-saṅghāḥ = the sages; samāhitāḥ = with a peaceful mind.
