Chapter 7: Rāma Meets Sutīkṣṇa
Text 3.7.7

स निरीक्ष्य ततो वीरं रामं धर्मभृतां वरम्।
समाश्लिष्य च बाहुभ्यामिदं वचनमब्रवीत्॥

sa nirīkṣya tato vīraṁ rāmaṁ dharmabhṛtāṁ varam
samāśliṣya ca bāhubhyām idaṁ vacanam abravīt

saḥ = Sutīkṣṇa; nirīkṣya = opened his eyes; tataḥ = then; vīram = the heroic; rāmam = Rāma; dharmabhṛtām = of the maintainers of dharma; varam = the best; samāśliṣya = embraced; ca = and; bāhubhyām = with his arms; idam = the following; vacanam = words; abravīt = spoke.

Sutīkṣṇa then opened his eyes, embraced the heroic Rāma, the best of the maintainers of dharma, with his arms and spoke the following words.

GLOSS. [The glossator reads dhīro instead of vīraṁ and indicates that] the sage enjoyed his meditation [practices].1
