Chapter 7: Rāma Meets Sutīkṣṇa
Text 3.7.10
चित्रकूटमुपादाय राज्यभ्रष्टोऽसि मे श्रुतः॥
citrakūṭam upādāya rājya-bhraṣṭo ’si me śrutaḥ
citrakūṭam = to Citrakūṭa; upādāya = after You came; rājya-bhraṣṭaḥ asi = that You have lost Your kingdom; me śrutaḥ = I got to know.
After You came to Citrakūṭa, I got to know that You have lost Your kingdom.1
1 A commentator has most foolishly remarked in this regard that Rāma is the Absolute Truth that has incarnated as a jīva in this world after losing Its original spiritual status. This is pure nonsense and has no support in the teachings of Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam which clarify the intent of the entire body of Vedic scriptures. See Bhagavad-gītā 15.16-20 and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam 1.7.4.
But what is this about Sutīkṣṇa ascending to the world of the devas? He explains that in the next verse.
