Chapter 8: Śrī Rāma Departs From Sutīkṣṇa’s Āśrama
Text 3.8.1
रामस्तु सहसौमित्रिसुतीक्ष्णेनाभिपूजितः।
परिणाम्य निशां तत्र प्रभाते प्रत्यबुध्यत॥
rāmas tu saha-saumitriḥ sutīkṣṇenābhipūjitaḥ
pariṇāmya niśāṁ tatra prabhāte pratyabudhyata
rāmaḥ tu = Rāma; saha-saumitriḥ = and Saumitri; sutīkṣṇena = by Sutīkṣṇa; abhipūjitaḥ = greatly honored; pariṇāmya = passed; niśām = the night; tatra = there; prabhāte = at dawn; pratyabudhyata = and woke up.
Greatly honored by Sutīkṣṇa, Rāma and Saumitri passed the night there and woke up at dawn.
With the permission of Sutīkṣṇa, Rāma departed to visit [various] āśramas [in the forest]. This is described in this chapter.
