Text 3.9.6
स्वदारनिरतस्त्वं च नित्यमेव नृपात्मज।
धर्मिष्ठस्सत्यसन्धश्च पितुर्निर्देशकारकः॥
sva-dāra-niratas tvaṁ ca nityam eva nṛpātmaja
dharmiṣṭhaḥ satya-sandhaś ca pitur nirdeśa-kārakaḥ
sva-dāra-nirataḥ = are satisfied with Your wife; tvam = You; ca = and; nityam eva = always; nṛpa-ātmaja = O prince; dharmiṣṭhaḥ = fixed in dharma; satya-sandhaḥ = therefore You are truthful; ca = and; pituḥ = of Your father; nirdeśa-kārakaḥ = You obey the orders.
O prince, You are always satisfied with Your wife and fixed in dharma. Therefore, You are truthful and You obey the orders of Your father.
She now begins to point out several reasons for the absence of the first two calamities in Him. Rāma’s obedience to His father’s orders is an instance of Him being truthful to His promises.
