Chapter 9: Sītā Requests Rāma to Give up His Weapons
Text 3.9.7
सत्यसन्ध महाभाग श्रीमॅल्लक्ष्मणपूर्वज।
त्वयि सत्यं च धर्मश्च त्वयि सर्वं प्रतिष्ठितम्॥
satya-sandha mahā-bhāga śrīmanl lakṣmaṇa-pūrvaja
tvayi satyaṁ ca dharmaś ca tvayi sarvaṁ pratiṣṭhitam
satya-sandha = O truthful one; mahā-bhāga = O greatly dhārmika one; śrīmat = of unbounded prosperity; lakṣmaṇa-pūrvaja = O elder brother of Lakṣmaṇa; tvayi = are in You; satyam ca = truthfulness; dharmaḥ = dharma; ca = and; tvayi = in You; sarvam = all [opulences]; pratiṣṭhitam = are firmly established.
O truthful one, O greatly dhārmika one of unbounded prosperity, O elder brother of Lakṣmaṇa, truthfulness, and dharma are in You. All [opulences] are firmly established in You.
She repeats what she said earlier and praises her husband in this verse. As Lakṣmaṇa’ elder brother, Rāmacandra is superior to Lakṣmaṇa in renunciation.
