Canto 3 -
Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 9: Sītā Requests Rāma to Give up His Weapons
Text 3.9.19
स तच्छस्त्रमनुप्राप्य न्यासरक्षणतत्परः।
वने तं विचरत्येव रक्षन्प्रत्ययमात्मनः॥
sa tac chastram anuprāpya nyāsa-rakṣaṇa-tat-paraḥ
vane taṁ vicaraty eva rakṣan pratyayam ātmanaḥ
saḥ = he; tat = that; śastram = weapon; anuprāpya = having received; nyāsa-rakṣaṇa-tat-paraḥ = fixed on protecting that which was deposited with him; vane = in the forest; tam = the; vicarati eva = he wandered; rakṣan = preserved; pratyayam = faith; ātmanaḥ = placed in him.
Having received that weapon, he preserved the faith placed in him. He wandered in the forest, fixed on protecting that which was deposited with him.
She elaborates on this in the next verse.
