Chapter 11: Rāma Goes to Agastya’s Āśrama
Text 3.11.62
ब्राह्मणानां सहस्राणि तैरेवं कामरूपिभिः।
विनाशितानि संहत्य नित्यशः पिशिताशनैः॥
brāhmaṇānāṁ sahasrāṇi tair evaṁ kāma-rūpibhiḥ
vināśitāni saṁhatya nityaśaḥ piśitāśanaiḥ
brāhmaṇānām = of brāhmaṇas; sahasrāṇi = thousands; taiḥ = the; evam = in this manner; kāma-rūpibhiḥ = who could assume any form they liked; vināśitāni = destroyed; saṁhatya = got together; nityaśaḥ = and continually; piśita-aśanaiḥ = meat-eaters.
In this manner, the meat-eaters who could assume any form they liked got together and continually destroyed thousands of brāhmaṇas.1
