Chapter 11: Rāma Goes to Agastya’s Āśrama
Text 3.11.81
अगस्त्य इति विख्यातो लोके स्वेनैव कर्मणा।
आश्रमो दृश्यते तस्य परिश्रान्तश्रमापहः॥
agastya iti vikhyāto loke svenaiva karmaṇā
āśramo dṛśyate tasya pariśrānta-śramāpahaḥ
agastyaḥ = Agastya; iti = as; vikhyātaḥ = he has become famous; loke = in the world; svena eva = by his; karmaṇā = activity; āśramaḥ = āśrama; dṛśyate = can be seen [from here]; tasya = his; pariśrānta-śrama-apahaḥ = which destroys the fatigue of tired people.
By his activity, he has become famous in the world as Agastya. His āśrama which destroys the fatigue of tired people can be seen [from here].
1 Rāmāyaṇa-bhūṣaṇa: agastya iti vikhyātaḥ agaṁ stambhayatīty agastya iti vyutpatteḥ.
By his deed of restraining Vindhya, he became famous as Agastya.1
