Chapter 12: Agastya Requests Rāma to Protect the Sages
Text 3.12.34

अनेन धनुषा राम हत्वा सङ्ख्ये महासुरान्।
आजहार श्रियं दीप्तां पुरा विष्णुर्दिवौकसाम्॥

anena dhanuṣā rāma hatvā saṅkhye mahāsurān
ājahāra śriyaṁ dīptāṁ purā viṣṇur divaukasām

anena = with this; dhanuṣā = bow and other weapons; rāma = Rāma; hatvā = having killed; saṅkhye = in battle; mahā-asurān = great asuras; ājahāra = brought [back]; śriyam = prosperity; dīptām = the blazing; purā = in the past; viṣṇuḥ = Lord Viṣṇu; diva-okasām = of the devas.

O Rāma, having killed great asuras with this bow and other weapons in battle, Lord Viṣṇu brought [back] the blazing prosperity of the devas in the past.1
