एवमुक्त्वा महातेजाः समस्तं तद्वरायुधम्।
दत्त्वा रामाय भगवानगस्त्यः पुनरब्रवीत्॥
evam uktvā mahā-tejāḥ samastaṁ tad varāyudham
dattvā rāmāya bhagavān agastyaḥ punar abravīt
evam = this; uktvā = having said; mahā-tejāḥ = of great prowess; samastam = all; tat = those; vara-āyudham = excellent weapons of the excellent Lord Viṣṇu; dattvā = gave and; rāmāya = to Rāma; bhagavān = the powerful; agastyaḥ = Agastya; punaḥ abravīt = spoke [to Him as follows].
Having said this, the powerful Agastya of great prowess gave all those excellent weapons of the excellent Lord Viṣṇu to Rāma and spoke [to Him as follows].1
1 Śrī Govindarāja’s commentary on this chapter ends here with a remark that the chapter doesn’t appear to end here because the narration [of events here] is incomplete: etādṛśa-sthale sarga-vicchittir nāstīti pratīyate kathāyā aparyavasānāt. In all the three printed editions of Rāmāyaṇa-bhūṣaṇa, this remark is placed at the beginning of his comment on the next chapter. The 37 verses that follow in this chapter are found in one of the manuscripts used for the Kumbhakonam edition of Vālmīki Rāmāyaṇa. Since these verses do complete the narration of events described so far, we have decided to include them herewith. Technical note: varāyudhaṁ varasya viṣṇor āyudhaṁ ca.
