Chapter 14: Śrī Rāma Meets Jaṭāyu
Text 3.14.12
तास्तु कन्यास्ततः प्रीतः कश्यपः पुनरब्रवीत्।
पुत्रांस्त्रैलोक्यभर्तॄन्वै जनयिष्यथ मत्समान् ॥
tās tu kanyās tataḥ prītaḥ kaśyapaḥ punar abravīt
putrāṁs trailokya-bhartṝn vai janayiṣyatha mat-samān
tāḥ tu = those; kanyāḥ = daughters of Dakṣa; tataḥ = then; prītaḥ = in happiness; kaśyapaḥ = Kaśyapa; punaḥ abravīt = told; putrān = to sons; trailokya-bhartṝn vai = and who can protect the three worlds; janayiṣyatha = give birth; mat-samān = who are equal to me.
Then, in happiness, Kaśyapa told those daughters of Dakṣa: “Give birth to sons who are equal to me and who can protect the three worlds.”
