Canto 3 -
Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 14: Śrī Rāma Meets Jaṭāyu
Text 3.14.13

अदितिस्तन्मना राम दितिश्च मनुजर्षभ।
कालिका च महाबाहो शेषास्त्वमनसोऽभवन्॥

aditis tan-manā rāma ditiś ca manuja-rṣabha
kālikā ca mahā-bāho śeṣās tv amanaso ’bhavan

aditiḥ = Aditi; tat-manā = were in favor in carrying out his instruction; rāma = Rāma; ditiḥ ca = Diti; manuja-ṛṣabha = Prince; kālikā = Kālikā; ca = and Manu-devī; mahā-bāho = mighty-armed; śeṣāḥ = the others; tu = but; amanasaḥ = not in favor of carrying out his instruction; abhavan = were.

Mighty-armed Prince Rāma, Aditi, Diti, Kālikā and Manu-devī were in favor in carrying out his instruction. But the others were not in favor of carrying out his instruction.

Four wives were in favor of generating mighty sons [like Kaśyapa and the remaining] four weren’t.

The vulture points out the results of respecting and disrespecting their husband’s instructions from the next verse.
