Chapter 22: Khara and Others Depart to kill Rāma
Text 3.22.13
इति तस्य ब्रुवाणस्य सूर्यवर्णं महारथम्।
सदश्वैः शबलैर्युक्तमाचचक्षेऽथ दूषणः॥
iti tasya bruvāṇasya sūrya-varṇaṁ mahā-ratham
sad-aśvaiḥ śabalaiḥ yuktam ācacakṣe ’tha dūṣaṇaḥ
iti = thus; tasya = while he; bruvāṇasya = spoke; sūrya-varṇam = it had the complexion of the sun; mahā-ratham = a great chariot; sat-aśvaiḥ = with good horses; śabalaiḥ = in a variety of colors 1; yuktam = and it was yoked; ācacakṣe atha = showed [him]; dūṣaṇaḥ = Dūṣaṇa.
While he spoke thus, Dūṣaṇa showed [him] a great chariot. It had the complexion of the sun and it was yoked with good horses in a variety of colors.
