Chapter 26: Rāmacandra Destroys Dūṣaṇa and his Followers
Text 3.26.16-17

एतस्मिन्नन्तरे क्रुद्धास्त्रयः सेनाग्रयायिनः।
संहत्याभ्यद्रवन्रामं मृत्युपाशावपाशिताः॥

महाकपालः स्थूलाक्षः प्रमाथी च महाबलः।
महाकपालो विपुलं शूलमुद्यम्य राक्षसः।
स्थूलाक्षः पट्टिशं गृह्य प्रमाथी च परश्वधम्॥

etasminn antare kruddhās trayaḥ senāgrayāyinaḥ
saṁhatyābhyadravan rāmaṁ mṛtyu-pāśāvapāśitāḥ

mahākapālaḥ sthūlākṣaḥ pramāthī ca mahā-balaḥ
mahākapālo vipulaṁ śūlam udyamya rākṣasaḥ
sthūlākṣaḥ paṭṭiśaṁ gṛhya pramāthī ca paraśvadham

etasmin antare = in the meanwhile; kruddhāḥ = became angry; trayaḥ = three; senā-agrayāyinaḥ = leaders of the army; saṁhatyā abhyadravan = they together rushed; rāmam = towards Lord Rāma; mṛtyu-pāśa-avapāśitāḥ = bound by the noose of death;  mahākapālaḥ = Mahākapāla; sthūlākṣaḥ = Sthūlākṣa; pramāthī = Pramāthī; ca = and; mahā-balaḥ = the greatly powerful; mahākapālaḥ = Mahākapāla; vipulam = a long; śūlam = spear; udyamya = took up; rākṣasaḥ = the rākṣasa; sthūlākṣaḥ = Sthūlākṣa; paṭṭiśam = a paṭṭiśa weapon; gṛhya = took; pramāthī = Pramāthī; ca = and; paraśvadham = a hatchet.

In the meanwhile, three leaders of the army—Mahākapāla, Sthūlākṣa and Pramāthī—became angry. Bound by the noose of death, they together rushed towards Lord Rāma. The greatly powerful Mahākapāla took up a long spear. The rākṣasa Sthūlākṣa took a paṭṭiśa weapon and Pramāthī a hatchet.
