Chapter 26: Rāmacandra Destroys Dūṣaṇa and his Followers
Text 3.26.32
क्षणेन तु महाघोरं वनं निहतराक्षसम्।
बभूव निरयप्रख्यं मांसशोणितकर्दमम्॥
kṣaṇena tu mahā-ghoraṁ vanaṁ nihata-rākṣasam
babhūva niraya-prakhyaṁ māṁsa-śoṇita-kardamam
kṣaṇena tu = instantaneously; mahā-ghoram = very terrible; vanam = the forest; nihata-rākṣasam = where the rākṣasas had been killed; babhūva = became; niraya-prakhyam = and hellish; māṁsa-śoṇita-kardamam = and where the mud was [their] blood and flesh.
The forest, where the rākṣasas had been killed and where the mud was [their] blood and flesh, instantaneously became very terrible and hellish.1
