Chapter 27: Rāma Kills Triśirā
Text 3.27.1
खरं तु रामाभिमुखं प्रयान्तं वाहिनीपतिः।
राक्षसस्त्रिशिरा नाम सन्निनिपत्येदमब्रवीत्॥
kharaṁ tu rāmābhimukhaṁ prayāntaṁ vāhinī-patiḥ
rākṣasas triśirā nāma sannipatyedam abravīt
kharam tu = Khara; rāma-abhimukham prayāntam = while he was proceeding towards Śrī Rāma; vāhinī-patiḥ = the commander-in-chief; rākṣasaḥ = a rākṣasa; triśirāḥ = Triśirā; nāma = named; sannipatya = approached; idam = the following; abravīt = and spoke.
The commander-in-chief, a rākṣasa named Triśirā, approached Khara while he was proceeding towards Śrī Rāma, and spoke the following.
I take shelter of Lakṣmaṇa’s elder brother who destroys the threefold miseries of His servants as demonstrated by His cutting the heads of Triśirā.
