Chapter 27: Rāma Kills Triśirā
Text 3.27.11
ततस्त्रिशिरसा बाणैर्ललाटे ताडितस्त्रिभिः।
अमर्षी कुपितो रामः संरब्धमिदमब्रवीत्॥
tatas triśirasā bāṇair lalāṭe tāḍitas tribhiḥ
amarṣī kupito rāmaḥ saṁrabdham idam abravīt
tataḥ1 triśirasā = Triśirā; bāṇaiḥ = arrows; lalāṭe = His forehead; tāḍitaḥ = when struck; tribhiḥ = with three; amarṣī = became impatient; kupitaḥ = angry; rāmaḥ = Lord Rāma; saṁrabdham = in anger; idam = the following; abravīt = and spoke.
When Triśirā struck His forehead with three arrows, Lord Rāma became impatient, angry and spoke the following in rage.
1 Technical note: tataḥ tāḍitaḥ.
Usually a man does not express his anger in speech even though he is angry. But Lord Rāma does express [His anger in speech when He is angry]. This is implied here.
