Chapter 31: Rāvaṇa’s Conversation with Akampana and Mārīca
Text 3.31.14
रावणस्य पुनर्वाक्यं निशम्य तदकम्पनः।
आचचक्षे बलं तस्य विक्रमं च महात्मनः॥
rāvaṇasya punar vākyaṁ niśamya tad akampanaḥ
ācacakṣe balaṁ tasya vikramaṁ ca mahātmanaḥ
rāvaṇasya = of Rāvaṇa; punaḥ = again; vākyam = words; niśamya = upon hearing; tat = those; akampanaḥ = Akampana; ācacakṣe = described; balam = the strength; tasya = of that; vikramam = valor; ca = and; mahā-ātmanaḥ = great soul Rāmacandra.
Upon hearing those words of Rāvaṇa, Akampana again described the strength and valor of that great soul Rāmacandra.
Rāma does not need the assistance of Indra and so on. With this in mind, Akampana speaks the following.
