Chapter 31: Rāvaṇa’s Conversation with Akampana and Mārīca
Text 3.31.22
अथैवमुक्ते वचने प्रोवाचेदमकम्पनः।
शृणु राजन्यथावृत्तं रामस्य बलपौरुषम्॥
athaivam ukte vacane provācedam akampanaḥ
śṛṇu rājan yathā-vṛttaṁ rāmasya bala-pauruṣam
atha evam = these; ukte = when he spoke; vacane = words; provāca = spoke; idam = as follows; akampanaḥ = Akampana; śṛṇu = hear; rājan = O king; yathā-vṛttam = as they have been really exhibited; rāmasya = Rāma’s; bala-pauruṣam = about strength and vigor.
When he spoke these words, Akampana spoke as follows: Hear, O king, about Rāma’s strength and vigor as they have been really exhibited.
असाध्यः कुपितो रामो विक्रमेण महायशाः।
आपगायाः सुपूर्णाया वेगं परिहरेच्छरैः॥
