Chapter 31: Rāvaṇa’s Conversation with Akampana and Mārīca
Text 3.31.23
असाध्यः कुपितो रामो विक्रमेण महायशाः।
आपगायाः सुपूर्णाया वेगं परिहरेच्छरैः॥
asādhyaḥ kupito rāmo vikrameṇa mahā-yaśāḥ
āpagāyāḥ supūrṇāyā vegaṁ pariharec charaiḥ
asādhyaḥ = He cannot be overcome; kupitaḥ = when He is angry; rāmaḥ = Rāma; vikrameṇa = by His prowess; mahā-yaśāḥ = who is greatly famous; āpagāyāḥ = of a river; supūrṇāyāḥ = overflowing with water; vegam pariharet = can neutralize the current; śaraiḥ = with His arrows.
He cannot be overcome when He is angry. By His prowess, Rāma, who is greatly famous, can neutralize the current of a river overflowing with water with His arrows!
