Chapter 32: Śūrpaṇakhā Goes to Meet Rāvaṇa
Text 3.32.16
चन्द्रसूर्यौ महाभागावुत्तिष्ठन्तौ परन्तपौ।
निवारयति बाहुभ्यां यः शैलशिखरोपमः॥
candra-sūryau mahā-bhāgāv uttiṣṭhantau parantapau
nivārayati bāhubhyāṁ yaḥ śaila-śikharopamaḥ
candra-sūryau = moon and sun; mahā-bhāgau = who were distinguished; uttiṣṭhantau = the rising; parantapau = tormentors of their enemies; nivārayati = had restrained; bāhubhyām = with his arms; yaḥ = he; śaila-śikhara-upamaḥ = [becoming] equal [in size] to a mountain peak.
[Becoming] equal [in size] to a mountain peak, he had restrained with his arms the rising moon and sun who were distinguished tormentors of their enemies.
