Chapter 34: Rāvaṇa’s Conversation With Śūrpaṇakhā
Text 3.34.19
सा सुशीला वपुःश्लाघ्या रूपेणाप्रतिमा भुवि।
तवानुरूपा भार्या स्यात्त्वं च तस्यास्तथा पतिः॥
sā suśīlā vapuḥ-ślāghyā rūpeṇāpratimā bhuvi
tavānurūpā bhāryā syāt tvaṁ ca tasyās tathā patiḥ
sā = she; suśīlā = has a very good character; vapuḥ-ślāghyā = her form is praiseworthy; rūpeṇa = in beauty; apratimā = she is unparalleled; bhuvi = on earth; tava = for you; anurūpā = suitable; bhāryā = a wife; syāt = she would be; tvam = you; ca = and; tasyāḥ tathā patiḥ = [would be suitable] as her husband.
She has a very good character. Her form is praiseworthy. She is unparalleled in beauty on earth. She would be a wife suitable for you and you [would be suitable] as her husband.
Her form is praiseworthy, that is, absolutely faultless.
