निशम्य रामेण शरैरजिह्मगैर्हतान्जनस्थानगतान्निशाचरान्।
खरं च बुद्ध्वा निहतं च दूषणं त्वमत्र कृत्यं प्रतिपत्तुमर्हसि॥
niśamya rāmeṇa śarair ajihmagair
hatān janasthāna-gatān niśācarān
kharaṁ ca buddhvā nihataṁ ca dūṣaṇaṁ
tvam atra kṛtyaṁ pratipattum arhasi
niśamya = upon learning; rāmeṇa = by Rāma; śaraiḥ = arrows; ajihmagaiḥ = of inflexible movement; hatān = have been killed; janasthāna-gatān = in Janasthāna; niśācarān = that the night-rangers; kharam = that Khara; ca = and; buddhvā = upon understanding; nihatam = have been slain; ca = and; dūṣaṇam = Dūṣaṇa; tvam = you; atra = in this regard; kṛtyam = [your] duty; pratipattum = realize; arhasi = should.
Upon learning that the night-rangers in Janasthāna have been killed by Rāma using arrows of inflexible movement, and upon understanding that Khara and Dūṣaṇa have been slain, you should realize [your] duty in this regard.
