Chapter 38: Mārīca Instructs Rāvaṇa
Text 3.38.11
बालोऽप्येष महातेजाः समर्थस्तस्य निग्रहे।
गमिष्ये राममादाय स्वस्ति तेऽस्तु परन्तप॥
bālo ’py eṣa mahā-tejāḥ samarthas tasya nigrahe
gamiṣye rāmam ādāya svasti te ’stu parantapa
bālaḥ = a boy; api = even though; eṣaḥ = He; mahā-tejāḥ = has immense prowess; samarthaḥ = He is capable; tasya = Mārīca; nigrahe = of restraining; gamiṣye = and go; rāmam = Rāma; ādāya = I will take; svasti = auspiciousness; te = unto you; astu = may there be; parantapa = O scorcher of enemies.
“Even though a boy, He has immense prowess. He is capable of restraining Mārīca. I will take Rāma and go. May there be auspiciousness unto you, O scorcher of enemies!”
