Chapter 38: Mārīca Instructs Rāvaṇa
Text 3.38.13
तं तदा दण्डकारण्ये यज्ञमुद्दिश्य दीक्षितम्।
बभूवोपस्थितो रामश्चित्रं विस्फारयन्धनुः॥
taṁ tadā daṇḍakāraṇye yajñam uddiśya dīkṣitam
babhūvopasthito rāmaś citraṁ visphārayan dhanuḥ
tam = Viśvāmitra; tadā = then; daṇḍakāraṇye = in Daṇḍakāraṇya; yajñam = the sacrifice; uddiśya dīkṣitam = who had been initiated into; babhūva upasthitaḥ = stood near; rāmaḥ = Rāma; citram = His wonderful; visphārayan = while holding; dhanuḥ = bow.
While holding His wonderful bow, Rāma then stood near Viśvāmitra who had been initiated into the sacrifice in Daṇḍakāraṇya.

Lord Rāma stood near Viśvāmitra to protect [his sacrifice].1
