Chapter 43: Sītā Sees the Magical Deer
Text 3.43.34
एतस्य मृगरत्नस्य परार्ध्ये काञ्चनत्वचि।
उपवेक्ष्यति वैदेही मया सह सुमध्यमा॥
etasya mṛga-ratnasya parārdhye kāñcana-tvaci
upavekṣyati vaidehī mayā saha sumadhyamā
etasya = of this; mṛga-ratnasya = excellent deer; parārdhye = on the praiseworthy [and invaluable]; kāñcana-tvaci = gold-complexioned skin; upavekṣyati = will sit; vaidehī = Vaidehī; mayā = Me; saha = with; sumadhyamā = slender-waisted.
Slender-waisted Vaidehī will sit with Me on the praiseworthy [and invaluable] gold-complexioned skin of this excellent deer.1

This deer was an object meant to be procured with endeavor. Lord Rāma speaks this verse with this in mind.
