Chapter 45: Sītā Chastises Lakṣmaṇa
Text 3.45.17
न्यासभूतासि वैदेहि न्यस्ता मयि महात्मना।
रामेण त्वं वरारोहे न त्वां त्यक्तुमिहोत्सहे॥
nyāsa-bhūtāsi vaidehi nyastā mayi mahātmanā
rāmeṇa tvaṁ varārohe na tvāṁ tyaktum ihotsahe
nyāsa-bhūtā asi = you have been entrusted; vaidehi = Vaidehī; nyastā = has entrusted; mayi = to Me; mahā-ātmanā = the great soul; rāmeṇa = Rāma; tvam = you; vara-ārohe = beautiful lady; na = not; tvām = you; tyaktum = to leave; iha = here; utsahe = I do wish.
Vaidehī, you have been entrusted. Beautiful lady, the great soul Rāma has entrusted you to Me. I do not wish to leave you here.
