धिक्त्वामद्य प्रणश्य त्वं यन्मामेवं विशङ्कसे।
स्त्रीत्वं दुष्टं स्वभावेन गुरुवाक्ये व्यवस्थितम्॥
dhik tvām adya praṇaśya tvaṁ yan mām evaṁ viśaṅkase
strītvaṁ duṣṭaṁ svabhāvena guru-vākye vyavasthitam
dhik = fie; tvām = upon you; adya = today; praṇaśya tvam = perish; yat = for; mām = Me; evam = in this manner; viśaṅkase = you doubt; strītvam = womanhood; duṣṭam = is evil; svabhāvena = by nature; guru-vākye = in carrying out My guru’s order; vyavasthitam = who am fixed.
Fie upon you! Perish today, for you doubt Me, who am fixed in carrying out My guru’s order, in this manner! Womanhood is evil by nature.1
1 The final remark indicates that the gross body and subtle body of a woman are unfavorable for engagement in karma, jñāna and bhakti within Vedic dharma. However, this disadvantage can be neutralized by women who continuously avoid adharma, follow strī-dharma and increasingly engage in bhāgavata-dharma. Otherwise they will succumb to lust, anger and greed—the three gateways to hell.
