Chapter 46: Rāvaṇa Disguises Himself and Approaches Sītā
Text 3.46.9
अभव्यो भव्यरूपेण भर्तारमनुशोचतीम्।
अभ्यवर्तत वैदेहीं चित्रामिव शनैश्चरः॥
abhavyo bhavya-rūpeṇa bhartāram anuśocatīm
abhyavartata vaidehīṁ citrām iva śanaiścaraḥ
abhavyaḥ = that evil one; bhavya-rūpeṇa = in the guise of a gentleman; bhartāram = about her husband; anuśocatīm = while she was lamenting; abhyavartata = approached; vaidehīm = Vaidehī; citrām = [approaching] the nakṣatra Citrā; iva = like; śanaiścaraḥ = Saturn.
Like Saturn [approaching] the nakṣatra Citrā, that evil one approached Vaidehī in the guise of a gentleman while she was lamenting about her husband.
