Chapter 46: Rāvaṇa Disguises Himself and Approaches Sītā
Text 3.46.30
मदान्वितानां घोराणां कुञ्जराणां तरस्विनाम्।
कथमेका महारण्ये न बिभेषि वरानने॥
madānvitānāṁ ghorāṇāṁ kuñjarāṇāṁ tarasvinām
katham ekā mahāraṇye na bibheṣi varānane
mada-anvitānām = of excited; ghorāṇām = terrible; kuñjarāṇām = elephants; tarasvinām = and strong; katham = how is it that; ekā = while being alone; mahā-araṇye = in this large forest; na = not; bibheṣi = you are afraid; vara-ānane = O lady with a beautiful face.
O lady with a beautiful face, how is it that while being alone you are not afraid of excited, terrible and strong elephants in this large forest?
