Chapter 53: Sītā Chastises Rāvaṇa
Text 3.53.18
मुमूर्षूणां हि सर्वेषां यत्पथ्यं तन्न रोचते।
पश्याम्यद्य हि कण्ठे त्वां कालपाशावपाशितम्॥
mumūrṣūṇāṁ hi sarveṣāṁ yat pathyaṁ tan na rocate
paśyāmy adya hi kaṇṭhe tvāṁ kāla-pāśāvapāśitam
mumūrṣūṇām = about to die; hi = indeed; sarveṣām = all those; yat = which; pathyam = is beneficial for their health; tat = for that; na rocate = have no attraction; paśyāmi = I see; adya hi = now; kaṇṭhe = around your neck; tvām = you; kāla-pāśa-avapāśitam = arrested, with the noose of death.
Indeed, all those about to die have no attraction for that which is beneficial for their health. I now see you arrested, with the noose of death around your neck.
