तथा भृशार्तां बहु चैव भाषिणीं विलापपूर्वं करुणं च भामिनीम्।
जहार पापः करुणं विवेष्टतीं नृपात्मजामागतगात्रवेपथुम्॥
tathā bhṛśārtāṁ bahu caiva bhāṣiṇīṁ
vilāpa pūrvaṁ karuṇaṁ ca bhāminīm
jahāra pāpaḥ karuṇaṁ viveṣṭatīṁ
nṛpātmajām āgata-gātra-vepathum
tathā = to an unspeakable extent; bhṛśa-ārtām = she was severely afflicted; bahu ca eva = in various ways, bhāṣiṇīm = she spoke; vilāpa-pūrvam = after lamenting; karuṇam = piteously; ca = and; bhāminīm = the beautiful; jahāra = abducted; pāpaḥ = [while] the sinner; karuṇam = piteously; viveṣṭatīm = writhed; nṛpa-ātmajām = daughter of a king; āgata-gātra-vepathum = her body began to tremble.
[While] the sinner abducted the beautiful daughter of a king, she was severely afflicted to an unspeakable extent. After lamenting in various ways, she spoke piteously and writhed piteously. Her body began to tremble.
