तेषां मध्ये विशालाक्षी कौशेयं कनकप्रभम्।
उत्तरीयं वरारोहा शुभान्याभरणानि च।
मुमोच यदि रामाय शंसेयुरिति मैथिली॥
teṣāṁ madhye viśālākṣī kauśeyaṁ kanaka-prabham
uttarīyaṁ varārohā śubhāny ābharaṇāni ca
mumoca yadi rāmāya śaṁseyur iti maithilī
teṣām = of the monkeys; madhye = in the midst; viśāla-akṣī = and wide-eyed; kauśeyam = in her silken; kanaka-prabham = which was brilliant as gold; uttarīyam = upper garment; varārohā = the beautiful; śubhāni = sparkling; ābharaṇāni = [wrapped] her ornaments; ca = and; mumoca = hurled [the bundle]; yadi = so that; rāmāya = Lord Rāma; śaṁseyuḥ iti = they might inform; maithilī = Maithilī.
The beautiful and wide-eyed Maithilī [wrapped] her sparkling ornaments in her silken upper garment which was brilliant as gold and hurled [the bundle] in the midst of the monkeys so that they might inform Lord Rāma.
She hoped that somehow or other if they see Lord Rāma, they could inform Him that Rāvaṇa had abducted her.
