तथोक्त्वा राक्षसीस्तास्तु राक्षसेन्द्रः प्रतापवान्।
निष्क्रम्यान्तःपुरात्तस्मात्किं कृत्यमिति चिन्तयन्॥
ददर्शाष्टौ महावीर्यान्राक्षसान्पिशिताशनान्॥
tathoktvā rākṣasīs tās tu rākṣasendraḥ pratāpavān
niṣkramyāntaḥ-purāt tasmāt kiṁ kṛtyam iti cintayan
dadarśāṣṭau mahā-vīryān rākṣasān piśitāśanān
tathā = thus; uktvā = after instructing; rākṣasīḥ = rākṣasīs; tāḥ tu = those; rākṣasa-indraḥ = the lord of the rākṣasas; pratāpavān = mighty; niṣkramya = came out; antaḥ-purāt tasmāt = of his inner quarters; kim = what; kṛtyam = to do next; iti = about; cintayan = while he thought; dadarśa = he noticed; aṣṭau = eight; mahā-vīryān = of great prowess; rākṣasān = rākṣasas; piśita-aśanān = meat-eating.
After thus instructing those rākṣasīs, the mighty lord of the rākṣasas came out of his inner quarters. While he thought about what to do next, he noticed eight meat-eating rākṣasas of great prowess.
