ततस्तु सीतामुपलभ्य रावणः सुसम्प्रहृष्टः परिगृह्य मैथिलीम्।
प्रसज्य रामेण च वैरमुत्तमं बभूव मोहान्मुदितः स राक्षसः॥
tatas tu sītām upalabhya rāvaṇaḥ
susaṁprahṛṣṭaḥ parigṛhya maithilīm
prasajya rāmeṇa ca vairam uttamaṁ
babhūva mohān muditaḥ sa rākṣasaḥ
tataḥ tu = and then; sītām = Sītā; upalabhya = upon seeing; rāvaṇaḥ = Rāvaṇa; susamprahṛṣṭaḥ = became extremely delighted; parigṛhya = upon abducting; maithilīm = the princess of Mithilā; prasajya = even after he [thus] became; rāmeṇa ca = to Lord Rāma; vairam = hostile; uttamam = extremely; babhūva = became; mohāt = in delusion; muditaḥ = joyful; saḥ = the; rākṣasaḥ = rākṣasa;
Upon seeing Sītā and then upon abducting that princess of Mithilā, Rāvaṇa became extremely delighted. Even after he [thus] became extremely hostile to Lord Rāma, the rākṣasa became joyful in delusion.
