Text 3.58.12
सुकुमारी च बाला च नित्यं चादुःखदर्शिनी।
मद्वियोगेन वैदेही व्यक्तं शोचति दुर्मनाः॥
sukumārī ca bālā ca nityaṁ cāduḥkha-darśinī
mad-viyogena vaidehī vyaktaṁ śocati durmanāḥ
sukumārī ca = is a very tender; bālā ca = girl; nityam ca aduḥkha-darśinī = she has never seen distress; mat-viyogena = in my absence; vaidehī = Vaidehī; vyaktam = obviously; śocati = she has been lamenting in the forest; durmanāḥ = with a dejected mind.
Vaidehī is a very tender girl. She has never seen distress. Obviously, she has been lamenting in the forest with a dejected mind in my absence.1
1 Rāmāyaṇa-bhūṣaṇa: śocati aśocat. vana-vāsa iti śeṣaḥ.
“With a dejected mind” indicates that she must have been overwhelmed in anxiety.
