Chapter 61: Rāma’s Lamentation
Text 3.61.7
मृतं शोकेन महता सीताहरणजेन माम्।
परलोके महाराजो नूनं द्रक्ष्यति मे पिता॥
mṛtaṁ śokena mahatā sītā-haraṇajena mām
para-loke mahā-rājo nūnaṁ drakṣyati me pitā
mṛtam = [for] I will die; śokena = distress; mahatā = in great; sītā-haraṇajena = because of Sītā’s abduction; mām = Me; para-loke = in Svarga; mahā-rājaḥ = the great king; nūnam = certainly; drakṣyati = will see; me = My; pitā = father.
My father, the great king, will certainly see Me in Svarga [for] I will die in great distress because of Sītā’s abduction.
