Canto 3 -
Araṇya-kāṇḍa
Chapter 62: Rāma’s Mental Confusion
Text 3.62.3

त्वमशोकस्य शाखाभिः पुष्पप्रियतया प्रिये।
आवृणोषि शरीरं ते मम शोकविवर्धनी॥

tvam aśokasya śākhābhiḥ puṣpa-priyatayā priye
āvṛṇoṣi śarīraṁ te mama śoka-vivardhanī

tvam = you; aśokasya = of the aśoka tree; śākhābhiḥ = behind its branches; puṣpa-priyatayā = because you are fond of the flowers; priye = My beloved lady; āvṛṇoṣi = hide; śarīram = body; te = your; mama = My; śoka-vivardhanī = [but by doing so] you increase distress.

My beloved lady, because you are fond of the flowers of the aśoka tree, you hide your body behind its branches. [But by doing so,] you increase My distress!

The branches of the aśoka tree appeared golden because of their flowers.

Lord Rāma implies here, “What is the use of your covering your body [behind this tree’s branches]? I saw you, anyway!”
