विदेहराजो नूनं मां दृष्ट्वा विरहितं तया।
सुतास्नेहेन सन्तप्तो मोहस्य वशमेष्यति।
तात एव कृतार्थः स तत्रैव वसताद्गतः॥
videha-rājo nūnaṁ māṁ dṛṣṭvā virahitaṁ tayā
sutā-snehena santapto mohasya vaśam eṣyati
tāta eva kṛtārthaḥ sa tatraiva vasatād gataḥ
videha-rājaḥ = the King of Videha; nūnam = certainly; mām = I; dṛṣṭvā = when he notices that; virahitam = and without; tayā = her; sutā-snehena = out of affection for his daughter; santaptaḥ = will burn in anxiety; mohasya = by delusion; vaśam eṣyati = he will then be overwhelmed; tātaḥ = Our father; eva = alone; kṛta-arthaḥ = successfully; saḥ = him; tatra eva = there; vasatāt = let stay; gataḥ = has gone [to the heavens].
The King of Videha will certainly burn in anxiety out of affection for his daughter when he notices that I am without her. He will then be overwhelmed by delusion. Our father alone has successfully gone [to the heavens]. Let him stay there.
