भूतानि राक्षसेन्द्रेण वधार्हेण हृतामपि।
न तां शशंसू रामाय तथा गोदावरी नदी॥
bhūtāni rākṣasendreṇa vadhārheṇa hṛtām api
na tāṁ śaśaṁsū rāmāya tathā godāvarī nadī
bhūtāni = like the creatures in the forest; rākṣasa-indreṇa = by the rākṣasa king; vadha-arheṇa = who was fit to be killed [for his offense]; hṛtām = she was abducted; api = even though; na = not; tām = about Mother Sītā; śaśaṁsuḥ = did inform; rāmāya = Rāma; tathā godāvarī = Godāvarī; nadī = the river.
Like the creatures in the forest, the river Godāvarī did not inform Rāma about Mother Sītā even though she was abducted by the rākṣasa king who was fit to be killed [for his offense].1
