Chapter 64: Rāma Discovers Some Clues About Sītā’s Whereabouts
Text 3.64.47
काञ्चनोरश्छदाश्चेमे पिशाचवदनाः खराः।
भीमरूपा महाकायाः कस्य वा निहता रणे॥
kāñcanoraś-chadāś ceme piśāca-vadanāḥ kharāḥ
bhīma-rūpā mahā-kāyāḥ kasya vā nihatā raṇe
kāñcana-uras-chadāḥ = their chests are covered with golden armors; ca = and; ime = are these; piśāca-vadanāḥ = they have the faces of piśācas; kharāḥ = mules; bhīma-rūpāḥ = their appearance is terrible; mahā-kāyāḥ = their bodies are large; kasya vā = and whose; nihatāḥ = and they have been killed; raṇe = in battle.
And whose are these mules? Their chests are covered with golden armors and they have the faces of piśācas. Their bodies are large, their appearance is terrible and they have been killed in battle.
