सन्निरुद्धग्रहगणमावारितनिशाकरम्।
विप्रनष्टानलमरुद्भास्करद्युतिसंवृतम्॥
विनिर्मथितशैलाग्रं शुष्यमाणजलाशयम्।
ध्वस्तद्रुमलतागुल्मं विप्रणाशितसागरम्।
त्रैलोक्यं तु करिष्यामि संयुक्तं कालधर्मणा॥

vipranaṣṭānala-marud bhāskara-dyuti-saṁvṛtam
vinirmathita-śailāgraṁ śuṣyamāṇa-jalāśayam
dhvasta-druma-latā-gulmaṁ vipraṇāśita-sāgaram
trailokyaṁ tu kariṣyāmi saṁyuktaṁ kāla-dharmaṇā
sanniruddha-graha-gaṇam = I will stop its planets from moving; āvārita-niśākaram = cover up its moon; vipranaṣṭa-anala-marut = destroy its fire and wind; bhāskara-dyuti-saṁvṛtam = conceal the illumination of its sun; vinirmathita-śaila-agram = fully crush its mountain peaks; śuṣyamāṇa-jala-āśayam = dry up its water bodies; dhvasta-druma-latā-gulmam = tear down its trees, creepers and shrubs; vipraṇāśita-sāgaram = and agitate its oceans; trailokyam tu = the three worlds; kariṣyāmi saṁyuktam = I will imbue; kāla-dharmaṇā = with the destructive effect of time.
I will imbue the three worlds with the destructive effect of time.1 I will stop its planets from moving, cover up its moon, destroy its fire and wind, conceal the illumination of its sun, fully crush its mountain peaks, dry up its water bodies, tear down its trees, creepers and shrubs, and agitate its oceans.2

2 “The three worlds” is a subset of the universe. The three worlds are referred to as bhūr, bhuvar and svar. Within these three worlds are the planets (grahas), sun, moon, fire, water, mountains and so on, all of which are said to belong to this subset of the universe. Therefore the repeated mention of “its planets,” “its moon,” “its fire and wind,” “its sun,” “its mountain peaks,” “its trees, creepers and shrubs,” and “its ocean.” Technical note: vipranāśitaḥ itas tataś cālitaḥ sāgaro yasmin tat.
